US President Donald Trump has said Venezuela "will be turning over" up to 50m barrels of oil to the US, after a surprise military operation that removed President Nicolás Maduro from power.

Oil prices declined on Wednesday after U.S. President Donald Trump said Venezuela will be "turning over" 30 million to 50 million barrels of sanctioned oil to the United States.

His declaration on Saturday that the United States would “run” Venezuela was both shocking and familiar in its assertion of superpower will.

In a speech to Republican members of Congress at the Kennedy Center, Trump claimed that former Venezuelan president Nicolas Maduro imitated his dance moves.
