The January transfer portal window has been busy across college football, and one of the programs making noise is the ACC’s SMU Mustangs. The Mustangs have been aggressive, adding talent at a rapid pace to strengthen their roster for the upcoming season.

M’ba transferred from Purdue to spend his final season of eligibility with SMU and registered 42 tackles and five sacks.

Rhett Lashlee and the SMU Mustangs added a great talent to the running back unit, landing Kendrick Raphael from California.

Wes Moore’s team shot out to a significant lead in the first quarter and rode that cushion to the finish line. After missing the team’s loss to Clemson, sophomore guard Zamareya Jones returned to action, coming off the bench for the Wolfpack in the victory. Jones was one of several key contributors in the dominant win.

Landing Raphael, who earned All-ACC Honorable Mention honors in 2025, will go a long way to replenish a room that lost its two leading rushers. SMU’s top returning rusher is Derrick McFall, who totaled 189 yards and four touchdowns on 35 carries.

The No. 25 SMU Mustangs and No. 6 Duke Blue Devils meet Saturday in Durham, North Carolina, with tip-off set for 2 p.m. ET.
